El próximo 23 de Mayo de 2015 en San Salvador, Capital de la Republica Hermana de El Salvador, será Beatificado Monseñor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez, arzobispo de San Salvador, asesinado por orden El ejercito Salvadoreño el 24 de Marzo de 1980.El 21 de diciembre de 2010, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas proclamó el 24 de marzo como Día Internacional del Derecho a la Verdad en relación con Violaciones Graves de los Derechos Humanos y de la Dignidad de las Víctimas en honor a Monseñor Romero.Para nosotros, integrantes del Comité Oscar Romero de Buenos Aires, adherido al Servicio Internacional Cristiano en Solidaridad con los pueblos de América Latina (SICSAL) el hecho de su beatificación significa una reivindicación a la Iglesia Salvadoreña encarnada en la figura de Monseñor Romero y a la Iglesia Latinoamericana de la que formamos parte. Desde su creación nuestro Comité ha seguido el camino iniciado por Monseñor Romero inspirado en el Evangelio y de los cientos de mártires y martiresas que han abonado con su sangre nuestras tierras latinoamericanas muchos por, como dice la canción inspirada en el Padre Rutilio grande “Vamos todos al banquete, a la mesa de la creación, cada cual con su taburete, tiene un puesto y una misión.La profecía de Monseñor Romero se ha cumplido “Si me matan resucitare en el pueblo Salvadoreño”Hoy Monseñor Romero vive en el corazón de su pueblo y de los pueblos que luchan por una vida digna.Hoy la luz de su resurrección Ilumina las luchas contra las nuevas formas d e opresión del poder neoliberal encarnado en las multinacionales que depredan y desangran nuestra tierra latinoamericana, produciendo cientos de victimas, desplazamientos humanos, grandes contaminaciones, llevándose nuestras riquezas y dejándonos devastación y miseria para nuestros pueblos.Sigue diciendo la canción de Rutilio “Dios invita a todos los pobres, a esta mesa común por la fe, donde no hay acaparadores, y a nadie le falta un con que”El próximo 23 de Mayo Romero será proclamado Beato, aunque será para nosotros San Romero de América, Mártir por la Justicia y Patrono de los Derechos Humanos.Este momento histórico nos interpela y nos compromete a profundizar en su obra, en su sentir la Iglesia y por sobre todo a vivir el Evangelio con su mismo compromiso y denunciar los atropellos a los derechos humanos, a la eliminación sistemática de nuestro jóvenes por vías del narcotráfico y el consumo desmedido de bienes, a la ratificación de un modelo productivo extractivo y a una economía deshumanizada; a la creciente Violencia de genero y femicidios entre otros temas que son prioridad resaltando entre todos ellos el crimen del hambre en nuestros países.Somos conscientes que a la Teología del mercado debemos anteponerle la Teología de Liberación, una Teología que este a la altura de las circunstancias históricas y que interprete este tiempo desde las victimas del sistema opresor y represor, una Teología que haga sujetos a las victimas y que protagonicen un nuevo tiempo de justicia para los empobrecidos de hoy.Hoy más que nuncala voz Romero, Monseñor Romero, San Romero, como dijo Dom Pedro Casaldáliga “Nadie pudo callar su última homilía” resuena en nuestros corazones sino que su espíritu anida en nosotros como semilla que dará a luz un sentido profundo de hermandad con los y las pobres de hoy.
